My mobile is dying. Probably will get a new one this weekend...
Has to:
* Be able to lock the keypad in x seconds
* Usable in China - What are the GSM bands there?
* Not turn off at random intervals
* Must not have a battery that has a pretty big crack in it.
* Fit in the mobile phone pocket of my shorts
Maybe:
* FM Radio
* Camera (Maybe handy when I don't have my good camera on me)
* That bounce game that J has on his mobile
Not sure / don't care about
* Colour screen (This is probably standard though)
* Internet / WAP (I've got a decent screen with fast access at home, don't need it on the road)
optus called me up out of the blue last november and offered to cancel my current contract (which had 3 months to run) and a new phone. They sent me a sony ericsson k700i, which has most of the things you are after, although i'm not sure if it's tri-band or not. Incidentally i believe china uses 900 gsm, the same as we do.
wap is one of the most pitiful excuses for digital communication one could hope for - and it costs a bomb. Although you can usually scam some sort of free trial period with your network provider.
