I can't get the music for a piece that I want sing. So, I'll do a version for myself in Lilypond. Problem is that I can't seem to tie between a crotchet and a quaver triplet. ie: I can't get the red in the pretty picture below... hmmmm.
Found it. Apparently ~ is supposed to be applied after notes (not before, as I previously thought). Ie: you tie from this note to the next; *not* tie this note to the previous. Anyhow. f4 ~ \times 2/3 { f8 f f } gives the result. Yay.
