Back In Brisbane, Luggage

| « Permalink » | Comments (8) | Life | ( 28/04/2006 - 10:39 PM )

I'm back in Brisbane tonight. Been away for work, and will be away again next week. As it's work related; it won't go up on this website; just to say that it was interesting: I look forward to next week.

On my list of things to get for a while is some luggage. I've had an email (from myself) reminding me to look at this; and some of the things to look out for:
* Sturdy
* Has wheels (2 only)
* Extendable handle thing, that can be packed away so that it doesn't protrude (preferably covered somehow)
* Lockable?
* 2 or more handles, on at least 2 sides
* Fits in a standard economy air fare luggage allowance dimensions.

Any more? hmmm.

cheers. Not long before you guys travel again?!

I kind of don't really want to buy any luggage - my backpack is pretty good. Except; I kind of want to avoid the dero uni student look when I'm away for work... :)

Check out the extendable handles carefully. My tosca extendable handle has broken - it extends, but one of the sides has come away , and is very hard to unextend.

s,

did the handle break due to old age / wear & tear? (or was it bent when extended, etc?)

The handle has 2 arms off it - the long bits that extend out. It was 1 of these arms that broke ( well, became detached from the inside part of the bag) when extended, when hurrying from one part of an airport to another. Case quite new.

I believe our Tosca has a misaligned handle! Otherwise it's great.

seems to be a common theme. But I wonder if it's common to most similar luggage or just that brand?
