Last night I got back from trip to Sydney. It was excellent - Friday in particular. I was proud to be with my mate when he got married.
The flight down was delayed by a bit. Can't remember by how much now. The return flight yesterday evening was delayed by about an hour as well. When the flight touched down in Brisbane, we were held up on the tarmac a bit to get to the terminal. And then it took ages for my pack to appear on the baggage return carousel thing (several flights arriving back at the same time). So, I'm not so impressed with Qantas at the moment.
Yesterday, when I was still in Sydney, we had been caught in traffic for 50+ mins - trying to cross the harbour bridge to get to the Rocks...
If you're buying a property in Queensland (applies to other states), the Department of Fair Trading has a whole bunch of information regarding buying housing.
So over the past few days I've been down at Coolangatta and then Sydney.
The first part of the trip (Coolangatta) was very interesting - more on this later. The second part (Sydney) was for my friend's buck's night, which was good fun.
Last weekend it was good to hear the QWO play the full Lord of the Rings symphony. Interesting piece of music.
... is at the Golden Circle cannery.
Trivia.
There's a bunch of election polls here. All sorts of approval / disapproval ratings, two party preferred, etc. Interesting few weeks ahead.
There's an interesting article here on how brain function is different between people who are liberal and people who are conservative (politically).
So my mum is in Italy at the moment. You can read all about it here.
After my third invite to facebook, I accepted for some reason and set up my profile... and am trying not to get sucked into it. A great timewaster, I suspect...
So QWAB's upcoming gig is the "Best of British". Amongst it all, we're playing a Beatles selection piece. The several times we've rehearsed it, all I think about is dad enjoying dancing away in the lounge room to a Beatles CD. :(
The trick with life seems to be just to not forget the simple message of this particular Beatles song - a sentiment that dad would agree, I suspect.
So, mostly for my benefit (and maybe yours?), below is a list of the key programs that I installed when I rebuilt my system:

Very easy, yummy snack:
1/ Toast some bread
2/ Fry up a couple of chopped mushrooms
3/ Put mushrooms on the toast, cover with grated cheese
4/ Grill for a few minutes.
So I finally read again (in full this time) What Men Don't Talk About. Very interesting. Although I read it about a month ago: and I've been a bit stressed since then (something about housing - maybe later), so no nifty review for you. Anyhow, some bits that I took from it are: loneliness, isolation, expectation of lack of communication of feelings. And something else, that I've forgotten.
Another quality post here... :P
