I’ve been sick. It’s very annoying. Very. I’ve got a doctor’s appointment this afternoon (it was the sixth place I rang up – everywhere else was busy / didn’t want to take new patients). Should be interesting – first time I’ve been to the doctor in 8? years. This cold has stuffed around work (had last Thursday, Monday, half of Tuesday, and today off), and choir (missed rehearsal last Thursday, and probably again tonight). Hasn’t adversely affected band – there was no rehearsal on Tuesday. But annoying all the same.
The other day I finished reading Supercapitalism by Robert Reich. It's a very interesting read. It's all about how capitalism is good on one hand - it gives us good deals on products, etc., but that has negative affects on society. i.e.: Supercapitalism is good for consumers / investors, but not good for citizens; and also that business and politics should be kept separate.
Below are a few of the pieces we're singing in choir for the upcoming concert (links to other choirs performing them on youtube):
Apparently Canberrans are the most wasteful Australians...

Interesting article regarding CEOs and authoritarian regimes.
The federal government's first home saver account is something to keep an eye on (for me at least). Apparently available from 1st of October.
