Two Laps

Earlier this afternoon I went for my first jog in ages. Just 2 laps around the park (1.8 km). I probably could have done one or two more, if I pushed myself, but thought it best not. The pneumonia thing has been really annoying... I hardly cough anymore; my only real symptom is my chest is sore (hurts when cough or laugh or sneeze). Apparently it takes a while to get over it completely... hopefully I can get rid of it soon. At the end of last week I was hungry in the afternoon (like I was pre-illness) - so my appetite continues to come back. Ate a big plate of food for dinner earlier tonight.

I was going to go to my first Brisbane bushwalkers meeting tonight, but thought it best not: (a) I can't go on any walks for a while; and (b) I had rehearsal last night, and rehearsal tomorrow, and am "out" out Friday, maybe Saturday. Catch up on this blog and emails and messages instead. I'll be missing the rogaine on Saturday. I shouldn't go, and besides everyone is busy.

Ooops

I was, ahhh, "reasonably concerned" yesterday coming home from work. I filled up my car with petrol - 60 litres = ~$90 (cliché, but petrol's expensive isn't it?), walked inside the servo, only to find my credit card missing... eeek. Very fortuitously I had the cash in my wallet (rare - I usually don’t carry much cash). Luckily, the last shop that I had used it had kept it when I left it behind... More on that shop later…

Warcrack

So the Friday before last I installed World of Warcraft on my computer (playing a trial)... and spent Friday night, all Saturday, Sunday and Monday playing it - “warcrack” apparently it’s called. A side effect – sore back from being on the computer for way too long. It’s a good game, but not for me. Very addictive though – immersive, and there’s always something to do. Apparently half of everyone I know plays it. Anyhow, I went into the shops on the weekend to buy it, but next to the WoW box was a Supreme Commander box (which is the sequel to Total Annihilation) – a RTS game which I’ve had my eye on for ages… So I’ll be getting that, and not Wow. Supreme Commander seems to be a better game for me: it's not as immersive, you can pause / save games (campaigns anyway), more strategic, a fair bit to be concerned about, etc.
