So things just seem to be a bit average at the moment. It’s getting hotter earlier in the morning – so I’m getting less sleep. I had band for the first time since our couple of weeks off, so a late night last night & tired today. Had a very average dream (not a “nightmare” – monsters or whatever – just other yucky things) – very rare for me to dream anyway (to remember them at least). Also I haven’t done much exercise recently so that probably doesn’t help.
So, four weeks ago I went for my first jog in ages. The next day, my chest was sufficiently painful that I went to the doctor. I would usually wait a bit, but given the whole “you can die from pneumonia” thing, probably best to get it checked out… anyhow, apparently from all my coughing, I’d either got a crack in a rib, or torn some of the muscles. Excellent. Either way the only thing that can be done is to let it heal.
Anyhow, no jogging for a while. Then it was two weeks later (i.e.: two weeks ago), I started jogging – going for 4 runs in 6 days. Quite short distances. Funny that. It was gradually hurting a bit in the chest, but not too bad. The 5km on last Wednesday was the last one I’ve done since (being on the busy side and not enough energy and hurting a bit – but a lot less than a few weeks previous) after that). Annoying.
Given that I’ve had a weeks rest, I’ll give it another go tomorrow or Friday.
Last weekend I did my tax return, and like previous years, after I do my tax return, I figure out how much money I will donate to charity in the coming year. So, how much this time? A few options – a certain amount; a certain percentage of my income; or alternatively what I spend on myself. It seems though, that probably the most effective way of doing things is to get the government to do it. Donating my time to increase federal government overseas aid (letter writing?).?
Ideas?
I finished the book “Musicophillia” by Oliver Sacks the other day. It’s an interesting read – all about how the music is interpreted by the brain and what can go wrong / different to normal.
